Ultra-Wide Low-Profile Camera

The Ultra-Wide Low-Profile Interior Camera [PC-1923] is an analog high-definition device with a 180° horizontal and 90° vertical field of view, an adjustable angle, infrared night vision, and a built-in microphone.

This camera mounts to the vehicle's interior to capture the driver, passenger, and/or cargo areas.

Mounting

The camera is typically installed on a vehicle's ceiling or headliner, but can be mounted on any surface that provides the desired camera view with either of its compatible mounting brackets:

  • Standard Bracket (included) – features two adjustment screws on the sides of the camera to easily align its captured angle.
  • Flush-Mount Bracket (optional) – allows the camera to mount fully flush to the vehicle's surface.
    • This requires a  4 3/8 in by 1 3/8 in opening to be drilled into the vehicle panel.

Standard Bracket

  1. Select the mounting location.
    • Verify that there is sufficient clearance on and behind the selected location for the camera and for its cable to be safely routed into the vehicle body.
    • If possible, connect the camera to a monitor or a camera view tester to verify that the selected mounting area captures the desired view.
  2. Mark the locations for the camera's mounting and A/V cable holes.
    • Hold the camera's base to the vehicle body and mark the two (2) mounting holes.
    • Between the two mounting holes, 1.2" from the left mounting hole, mark a center A/V cable hole.
  3. Drill the camera's A/V cable hole and mounting notches.
    • Verify that the camera can be safely mounted at the selected location, if not already done.
    • Use a 7/8” hole saw to drill the A/V Cable hole in the marked location.
      1. Briefly hold the camera over the cable hole to verify that the mounting holes align.
    • Use a 3/32" bit to drill the two (2) pilot mounting holes.
  4. Mount the camera.
    • Run the camera's cable through the drilled hole in the vehicle panel.
    • Mount the camera with the two (2) self-tapping screws.
  5. Aim the camera's lens.
    • Loosen the two (2) small screws at the camera's sides.
    • Tilt the camera to capture its desired angle.
      1. If possible, connect the camera to a monitor or camera view tester to verify its view.
    • Retighten the camera's screws once the desired view is captured.
  6. Route the camera's cable towards its connection device.
    • This could include a monitor and/or DVR.
    • Use A/V Extension cables to extend the camera's connection up to 30 m, and an A/V Splitter Cable to split the signal between multiple devices as needed.
    • Follow the vehicle's OEM wiring and paths whenever possible.
    • Secure the cable to the vehicle's wiring or body.

Flush-Mount Bracket

  1. Select the mounting location.
    • Verify that there is sufficient clearance on and behind the selected location for the camera to be safely inset into the vehicle panel and its cable to be routed.
    • If possible, connect the camera to a monitor or a camera view tester to verify that the selected mounting area captures the desired view.
  2. Remove the camera from the standard bracket.
    • Remove the four (4) screws and the plastic plate from the camera's rear.
    • Remove the camera from its housing, and set the standard housing aside.
  3. Install the camera into the flush-mount bracket.
    • With the Pro-Vision logo at the bottom of the bracket, place the camera into the bracket with its microphone to the right of the lens.
      • This will make it easier to distinguish the top of the lens.
    • Aim the camera at the desired angle when mounted.
      • Align the camera's lens to capture the desired view when installed.
      • If possible, connect the camera to a monitor or camera view tester and hold it at the selected location.
    • Place the plastic plate removed from the standard housing over the camera and use its four (4) screws to secure it.
  4. Prepare the vehicle panel for the camera's mounting.
    • Verify that the camera can be safely mounted at the selected location, if not already done.
    • Tape the provided template to the selected area.
    • Using a 1/8" bit, drill all six (6) holes marked on the template.
    • Remove the template.
    • With a 1 3/8" hole saw, drill the large central holes aligned with the pilot holes.
    • Connect the two (2) central holes with shears or a grinding tool, creating an oval for the camera to sit in.
  5. Mount the camera.
    • Run the camera's A/V cable into the vehicle body.
    • Insert the camera into the opening in the vehicle panel, aligning the bracket with the four (4) mounting holes.
    • Mount the camera with its four (4) screws
