The Flush-Mount Camera [PC-1918] is an analog high-definition device with a 130° horizontal and 70° vertical field of view and infrared night vision.
This discrete camera is the smallest available, mounting flush to the vehicle's body or bumper, typically as a backup camera.
Mounting
The Flush-Mount camera is most often mounted on a vehicle's rear bumper, but it can be inset into any 1.25" hole in the vehicle body. Its mounting is determined by the order in which its spacer rings are arranged. There are three options:
-
Select and mark the mounting location.
-
Verify that there is sufficient clearance to mount the camera.
- To mount the camera, you must be able to physically reach the other side of the vehicle panel to install the locking rings at the camera's rear.
- If possible, connect the camera to a monitor or a camera view tester to verify that the selected mounting area captures the desired view.
-
Verify that there is sufficient clearance to mount the camera.
-
Drill the camera's mounting hole.
- Use a 1.2" hole saw to create the mounting hole in the selected location.
-
Disassemble the camera.
- Loosen the two (2) threaded lock rings.
- Remove the lock and spacer rings from the camera and cable.
-
Mount the camera.
-
Determine the desired mounting style and the corresponding spacer rings.
- Reference the above diagram.
- Slide the mounting gasket and any outer spacers back through the cable and onto the camera.
- Route the camera's cable into the vehicle.
- From the other side of the vehicle panel, hold the camera flush against it and slide any remaining spacers and the locking rings through the cable and onto the camera.
- Secure each locking ring onto the camera.
-
Determine the desired mounting style and the corresponding spacer rings.
-
Route the camera's cable towards its connection device.
- This could be a monitor, DVR, wireless transmitter, and/or object detection control box.
- Use A/V Extension cables to extend the camera's connection up to 30 m, and an A/V Splitter Cable to split the signal between multiple devices as needed.
- Follow the vehicle's OEM wiring and paths whenever possible.
-
Secure the cable to the vehicle's wiring or body.
