SecuraMax: Live Map

The SecuraMax Live Map interface provides a live view of a fleet's geographic location and the exact live or last-known location of each user/device.

To use Live Map, the user must be given specific permissions by their SecuraMax site admin. To learn more about admin permissions, see SecuraMax-Admin: Managing Live Permissions.

Opening the Map

  1. Locate the "REVIEW/LIVE" slider in the top left corner of the SecuraMax site navigation bar.
    • If there is no slider, the user does not have live feature permissions.  Should the user need to use live features, they should contact their SecuraMax admin.
  2. Move the slider button from "REVIEW" to "LIVE."
    • The live button will be highlighted in blue, and the page will transition to the Live Map.
  3. The Live Map site will show a list of active and inactive devices/users in the left navigation pane and map views.
    • Active devices are color-coded green, while inactive devices are grey and show an "OFFLINE" icon. The list is ordered alphanumerically, with active devices on top.
    • If multiple devices are within an area(s), this will be indicated as a highlighted cluster with a number representing the amount devices. To automatically zoom into the area, click the highlighted cluster.

Locating a Specific Device

  1. Locate and click on the desired user/device from the left navigation pane to toggle open the device details and actions.
    • Use the search bar in the top left corner to narrow down results if needed.

  2. Click the "Locate on Map" button from the device details and actions.
  3. The Live Map will update automatically, zooming into the device's current/last known location and displaying the exact address.

  4. To view nearby devices, zoom further out.
    • To zoom in and out, use the mouse trackball or the "+" and "-" symbols on the bottom right corner of the map.

Viewing User/Device Details

  • Selecting a device will display its associated details, which include the device icon, user name, device type, and device serial number (BC4) or unit and online cameras (Ranger/DR200v2).
    • Left navigation pane view:
    • Map view:

      • Note inactive devices have a "Last Connected" time frame.

Additional Actions

When opening the device details in both the map and left navigation pane views, the user may see two more blue buttons, depending on the user's assigned permissions:

  • View Live - allows the user to open the View Live app to see the device's live video feed.
  • Request Video - allows the user to request non-event video. To do this, the device must have background recording activated, and the user must have a time frame in mind.
    • By default, in-car systems have background recording enabled, while BC4 systems will have it disabled.
    • To learn more about requesting non-event video, see SecuraMax: Requesting a Non-Event Video
