SecuraMax-Admin: Add a New DVR

SecuraMax can utilize multiple different DVR models from Pro-Vision. Each model has different capabilities and setup instructions.
  • DR-200v1 - This is a 2-camera all-in-one dash camera produced from 2018-2022. It has built-in 802.11n (2.4 Ghz) Wi-Fi for connectivity and could also be purchased with an optional 4G LTE modem for connectivity. Configuration to SecuraMax is done through the unit's Wi-Fi interface. Units can be identified by their serial number: yymmS2DRAxxxx "S2DRA" which indicates this model.
  • DR-200v2 - This is a 2-camera all-in-one dash camera produced from 2022-Current. It has built-in 802.11ac (2.4 Ghz and 5 Ghz) Wi-Fi for connectivity and could also be purchased with an optional 4G LTE modem for connectivity. Configuration to SecuraMax is done through the unit's Wi-Fi interface or with a Quick Setup File on the unit's SD card. Units can be identified by their serial number: yymmS2DRBxxxx "S2DRB" indicates this model.
  • PD-1800 DVR - This is a multi-camera recording unit produced from 2014-2022. It has built-in 802.11n (2.4 Ghz) Wi-Fi for connectivity and could also be purchased with an optional 4G LTE modem for connectivity. Configuration to SecuraMax is done through the unit's Wi-Fi interface or with a Quick Setup File on the unit's SD card. Units can be identified by their model number "PD-1800" or serial number: yymmS8HDxxxx "S8HD" indicates this model.
  • PD-1900 DVR - This is a multi-camera recording unit produced from 2019-2022. It has built-in 802.11ac (2.4 Ghz and 5 Ghz) Wi-Fi for connectivity and could also be purchased with an optional 4G LTE modem for connectivity. Configuration to SecuraMax is done through the unit's Wi-Fi interface or with a Quick Setup File on the unit's SD card. Units can be identified by their model number "PD-1900" or serial number: yymmH6HDxxxx "H6HD" indicates this model.
  • PD-1902 Ranger DVR - This is a multi-camera recording unit produced from 2022-Current. It has built-in 802.11ac (2.4 Ghz and 5 Ghz) Wi-Fi for connectivity and could also be purchased with an optional 4G LTE modem for connectivity. Configuration to SecuraMax is done through the unit's Wi-Fi interface or with a Quick Setup File on the unit's SD card. Units can be identified by their model number "PD-1902" or serial number: yymmH9HDxxxx "H9HD" indicates this model.
Adding a New DVR
Devices can be added, removed, or replaced through the "Devices" page.
  1. Navigate to the devices page by going to "Admin" in the top navigation bar and selecting "Devices". This requires the "Manage Devices" administrative user permission.
  2. From the left side menu of the "Devices" page, select "Add DVR".
  3. Follow the onscreen steps to walk through adding a device:
    1. Verify your device is file transfer capable. Older DR-200 and PD-1800 devices may require updated firmware.
      • Connect to your device, open your browser, and navigate to the device's web configuration home page. (Typically 192.168.10.254)
      • Open the "Settings" drop-down menu.
      • If your device supports file transfer, you will see a "File Transfer" menu option.
    2. Enter the URL displayed in the box below into the "Server URL" box on your device's "File Transfer" settings page:
      • PD-1800/DR-200: Check the "Enabled" box and then click "Register".
      • PD-1900: Turn on the "File Transfer" switch.
      • A registration code will be displayed on the device, enter it in the box on Step 3 below.
    3. Enter the code displayed on your device.
      • Select the user to assign as default within the "Associated User"
      • Check the "Enable Automatic Alarm Video Transfers" box if desired (recommended).
      • Click the "Approve Device" button to complete the setup
    4. On the devices web interface "File Transfer" page, the "Setup Status" should be "Complete" to indicating the unit is set up.

Generate a Quick Setup File:

A quick setup file can be used to speed up the setup process by connecting the unit to the network, entering the server url information, and retrieving the setup code without requiring a connection to the unit. The quick setup process requires a few steps:

  1. Generate the setup file in SecuraMax
  2. Save the file to an SD Card
  3. Insert and run the setup file on a DVR
  4. Complete the setup in SecuraMax.
