DR-200v2: Not Recording - Missing Access Door Magnet

The DR-200 features a locking access door that must be securely closed for the unit to record, preventing SD card corruption. There's a small magnet in the top-left corner of the access door that signals the unit whether the door is open or closed. On occasion, the magnet may fall out and need to be reglued or replaced for the unit to resume recording.

Replacing the Unit's Access Door Magnet

  1. Locate the unit's access door magnet.
  2. Disconnect the unit and slide it off its mounting bracket.
    • Hold the unit's release mechanism toward the SD card slot, then slide the unit towards the right.
  3. Locate and clean the section of the access door where the magnet should be reinstalled.
    • This is the top left corner of the locking door.
    • Use an alcohol prep pad or isopropyl alcohol to clean the area.
  4. Add a dot of glue directly onto the magnet's slot on the access door.
  5. Hold the magnet to the glue for at least four seconds to ensure it's secure.
  6. Verify the SD card and magnet are secure and lock the unit's access door.
  7. Reconnect the cables at the top of the unit and remount it.
    • Align the unit with its bracket, then slide it left until you hear a small click.
  8. Turn the vehicle's key to power the unit and verify it is once again recording.
    • The first two status lights on the unit should light green
