Configure a laptop's IPv4 address

Connecting to a Ranger DVR via Ethernet requires a laptop with an Ethernet port configured to a compatible Internet Protocol Version 4 (IPv4) address. To configure the IPv4 address on a Windows device:  

    1. Search for and open the "Control Panel."

    2. Select "Network and Internet," then the "Network Sharing Center."

    3. From the sharing center's left panel, select "Change Adapter Settings." 

    4. Right-click on "Ethernet" and select "Properties."

    5. In the "Ethernet Properties" panel, locate and select "Internet Protocol Version 4 (TCP/IPv4)."
        • Select the text, not the checkmark next to it.
    6. Click on the [Properties] button, underneath and to the right of the list. 

    7. In the "General" panel that displays: 
      1. Select "Use the following IPv4 address." 
      2. Type 192.168.10.107 in the "IPv4 address" open text field.
      3. Type 255.255.255.0 in the "Subnet mask" open text field. 
      4. Click [OK] to close the windows.
