CloudConnect: Viewing Videos

CloudConnect lets users view transferred video and audio recordings from registered Pro-Vision devices on any web browser. There are three types of video on CloudConnect:

  1. Events - These video files are the alarm videos automatically transferred from a unit to CloudConnect.
  2. Requests - Videos requested from the unit by a CloudConnect user.
  3. Stop Arm Violations - Videos captured by the Stop Arm Camera Gen 2 are transferred automatically, but reviewed and stored differently on the site.

Video files will only be viewable on CloudConnect if the unit has transferred them and the user has been assigned permission to view the type of video.

  • Transfers -  Units can only transfer data when connected to Wi-Fi (or 4G). Event Transfers and Video Requests are often uploaded to CloudConnect when the vehicle is off and the unit remains on for a brief data transfer period.
      • CloudConnect Live features, real-time data from 4G devices, are the exception to this: they are available as long as the unit is on, but cannot be transferred until its recording is complete. Live data is not stored unless flagged as event data or requested.
  • Permissions - Each video type has its own section on the homepage, page on the site, and viewing permissions. A CloudConnect admin must assign permissions to a user or the user's role to view each type of video.

To View Event Video:

  1. Log in to CloudConnect on an account with "View Event Transfers" permissions.
  2. From the left navigation bar (or the homepage), locate "Events."

    • The "Events" table only shows the last 7 days by default. To view more days, from the top right corner's "Showing" toggle menu, select "All" or "Alarm."
  3. From the "Events" table, reference the "Unit" and "Video Date" columns to locate the desired video.
    • To locate an event recorded by a specific Unit, you can type the Unit's name in the search bar at the top of the "Events" table.
    • Alternatively, you can view all videos transferred from a specific unit on its device page. From the left navigation bar, select "Unit" to view a list of all the units, locate and click on the desired unit, and scroll down to view its "Events" (and "Requests," if applicable).
  4. Click on the desired event's row to view its "Files".

    • Each event "File" is the alarm video from a different camera.
  5. Note which camera each file is recorded from.
  6. Click the blue [Play] button to view the desired video file.

    • The other action buttons on each video file are download, share, and lock from deletion.
