CloudConnect: Requesting Non-Event Video via Live Map

CloudConnect devices upload all event videos automatically; however, non-event videos must be requested from the device with a specified time frame. To make a request, the user must have "Video Request" permissions and the device must have "Background Recording" active.

Users with both "Video Request" and "Live" Permissions can request videos directly from the Live Map.

  1. Open the left navigation pane and select "Live" to open the Live Map page.
    • If there is no "Live" button, the user does not have live permissions. Should the user need Live permissions, they should contact their CloudConnect admin.

  2. The page will transition to the Live Map Site, which shows a list of active and inactive devices/vehicles in the left navigation and the map views.

  3. Locate and click on the desired device from the left navigation pane to toggle open the device details and action buttons.

    • The device list is ordered alphanumerically, with active devices on top and color-coded green. Use the search bar in the top right corner to narrow down results if needed.
  4. Click the "Request Video" button to open the "Request Video from..." page.

    • The page displays an informational paragraph stating that the "...video [will] be automatically transferred the next time the unit is on a non-metered network connection," as well as video thumbnails for each of the cameras, the “Active Device Timeline,” “Length of Request,” “Request Notes,” and “Transfer Recipients Email” fields.
  5. Click the checkbox next to the desired video thumbnail(s).
  6. Click on the "Start Time" box. This will display a mini calendar prompting the user to select a date and time for the non-event video starting point. Select the desired month, day, and start time, including AM/PM.
    • To navigate between months, use the navigation arrows [<] and [>] on the left and right of the month.

  7. Select a video length.
    • This will be the length of the non-event video, which will start at the time specified in the previous step.
    • The time frames increase in five-minute intervals, with a minimum of "1 minute" and a maximum of "60 minutes."

  8. To submit the request, click the blue [Create Request] button at the bottom right corner of the module.
