CloudConnect Live View lets users view real-time video and audio feeds from active devices. To use Live View, the user must be given live permissions by their site administrator and have the Pro-Vision Live View desktop app downloaded and set up.
- To learn more about permissions, see CloudConnect-Admin: Managing Live Permissions
There are two main ways to open the Live View app:
- Navigating from the CloudConnect Live Site will allow users to open the app and view real-time footage of a pre-selected device.
-
Launching the app from the desktop will prompt users to select the desired video feed from a list of active devices.
Navigating from the CloudConnect site
-
On the left navigation bar, select the camera "Live" icon.
- If "Live" is unavailable in the navigation bar, the user does not have live permissions and will not be able to use Live View.
-
Should the user need live permissions, they should contact their CloudConnect admin or see the Managing Live Permissions article linked above.
- The Live site will show a list of active and inactive devices on the left navigation pane, with active devices highlighted in green at the top of the navigation list.
-
Locate and click on the desired device on the left navigation list to toggle open the device details and action buttons.
-
If there are a lot of users/devices, type the name in the search bar on top of the left navigation pane to narrow down the results.

Select the "VIEW LIVE" button.
- Note the "LOCATE ON MAP" button, which allows the user to view the device's current or last known location and nearby devices.
- To learn more about Live Map, see CloudConnect: Live Map.
-
If multiple cameras are available, the system will prompt the user to select specific cameras for live viewing (e.g., "FRONT", "CAM1", "LEFT", etc.). Select the checkbox of the desired cameras and click "OK".
-
When the app is opened for the first time, a web browser security pop-up will likely appear. To avoid this in the future, select the checkbox next to "Always allow..." and click on "Open PVLiveView" to be redirected to the app.
-
As the site redirects the user to the desktop app, a 30-second pop-up will display on the site.
-
If the user does not have the app, they can download the software by clicking "Download the PV Live View App here" from the redirection message.
- Locate the "PVLiveView-win-Setup.exe" file, which will likely be in the user's downloads folder.
- Click on the file to install the application.
- When opening the app for the first time, the user will be prompted to select their product (CloudConnect) and enter their site address.
- PV Live View will briefly auto-authenticate through the CloudConnect site (the user must be logged in for this) and reopen the app.

Using the Pro-Vision Live View app
If View Live is opened by selecting a user/device through the CloudConnect site, it will automatically open the appropriate video feed(s). If the app is opened through the desktop, it will open in its default state, displaying four viewports with a "SELECT DEVICE/CAMERA" button each.
-
To display more or fewer viewports, locate the "View 1, 4, or 9" options on the top center navigation bar and select the desired number.
- Please note: each time the View number is changed, each viewport device/camera must be reselected.
-
The app will automatically relaunch with the correct number of viewports.
- Click on the "SELECT DEVICE/CAMERA" button.
-
A list of available devices will be displayed. Select the desired device and repeat the process for each available viewport.
-
The device list is ordered alphanumerically and shows a device icon, username, and serial number.

-
Control Buttons
- Stop/Start - The video can be stopped and restarted, which will re-update to the real-time video feed.
- Mute/Unmute - The audio defaults to be on but can be muted if desired.
-
Exit - Selecting the "X" will close the current video and again show a "SELECT DEVICE/CAMERA" button.
-
Viewport/Live Video - The viewport will display the selected user's live video. The information on the video will vary depending on the type of device and its configurations but is likely to display device details such as:
- User Name - Top left corner

- Date and Time - Top right corner
- Device Coordinates - Bottom left corner
- Vehicle Speed - Bottom left corner
Device Offline
If a device is not communicating or loses communication while playing video, "OFFLINE" will be displayed in the top banner of the viewport window. Additionally, a message in the viewport (see below) will prompt the user to take further action:
Connection to the device has been lost.
The device is no longer in network coverage or has been turned off.
Click the play button to attempt to restart live view from this device.
Close the window to select another device.
