Server Application Troubleshooting
1. Problem: Localhost site is not accessible on a web browser.

Possible Cause Localhost is only accessible on the server itself.
Solution Ensure the web interface is being accessed from the server. -
Possible Cause PVTransfer2 service is not running on the server.
Solution Check the server's "Services" window to ensure that the PVTransfer2 Service is running. -
Possible Cause PVTransfer2 service is unable to start because the security certificate is misconfigured.
Solution Check the log files in C:\ProgramData/Pro-Vision/PVTransfer/Logs
2. Problem Unable to add new devices.

Possible Cause User permissions set for the C:\ProgramData/Pro-Vision/PVTransfer are not correct.
Solution Ensure the user logged onto the "PVTransfer" service has read/write permissions to the folder.
DVR Connection/Wi-Fi Troubleshooting
Problem DVR's Wi-Fi is not visible.

Possible Cause DVR is not powered on or booted up fully.
Solution Ensure the DVR is powered and booted. This can take up to 30 seconds after turning the key. -
Possible Cause DVR unit is in Client Mode.
Solution Press and hold the STOP button for 7 seconds to switch to AP Mode and then re-enable Wi-Fi on the unit.
Problem Wi-Fi signal goes in and out.

Possible Cause The signal strength of the Wi-Fis weak/poor.
Solution Relocate the vehicle and reposition antennas on the building and/or vehicle to obtain better reception. -
Possible Cause The Wi-Fi is rebooting.
Solution Anytime Wi-Fi settings are changed, the Wi-Fi must reboot before the changes take effect. -
Possible Cause The DVR is rebooting.
Solution
If the DVR is rebooting, the reboot shuts down the Wi-Fi.
Problem Wi-Fi LED on the DVR flashes.

Possible Cause The DVR is not connected to a network, or no devices are connected to it.
Solution Connect a unit in AP Mode, add a network in Client Mode, or move the DVR closer to a network that has already been added to the unit. -
Possible Cause Data is being transferred.
Solution No action is needed.
Problem Able to connect to Wi-Fi but cannot access the DVR.

Possible Cause The device is configured with an incorrect static IP.
Solution Ensure that the network settings of the device's Wi-fi is set to DHCP rather than static IP. -
Possible Cause The web path was entered incorrectly.
Solution Ensure the web path is 192.168.10.254 or 192.1.254, depending on the model. -
Possible Cause The DVR's Wi-Fi AP has the DHCP disabled.
Solution Enter a static IPv4 address of 192.168.10.254 with a mask of 255.255.255.0, connect the DVR, then go to Network Settings and enable DHCP.
Problem DVR's Wi-Fi Client cannot find the building's Wi-Fi.

Possible Cause The building's Wi-Fi is out of range of the DVR.
Solution Relocate the vehicle and reposition antennas on the building and/or vehicle to obtain better reception. -
Possible Cause The building's Wi-Fi is using an unsupported name format.
Solution Ensure the building's Wi-GFI SSID does not contain spaces.
Problem DVR's Wi-Fi Client cannot connect to the building's Wi-Fi.

Possible Cause The building's Wi-Fi AP has poor signal strength.
Solution Relocate the vehicle and reposition antennas on the building and/or vehicle to obtain better reception. -
Possible Cause The security key was entered incorrectly.
Solution Connect and re-enter the security key. -
Possible Cause The security mode of the building's AP is not compatible with the DVR.
Solution Change the building's Wi-Fi AP security mode to WPA2 AES encryption.
PV Player Integration Troubleshooting
Problem Unable to connect to the server.

Possible Cause PV Player does not have access to the PV Transfer server.
Solution Check the computer's connection and ensure that the server URL is accessible. -
Possible Cause The PV Transfer service is not running on the server.
Solution Check the server's "Services" window to ensure that the PVTransfer2 Service is running. -
Possible Cause The server URL is misconfigured or has changed.
Solution Recheck the URL on the server and ensure it matches the URL set in the PV Player.
Problem Unable to play videos.

Possible Cause The computer does not have access to the server's video storage location.
Solution Check to ensure the computer user has permissions set to the video storage location.
Problem PV Player does not have the "Vehicle List" button.
- Possible Cause The player is out of date.
- Solution Connect the PC to the internet so that the player can automatically check and download updates.
