Connect (ECB) is a self-hosted server that stores videos from registered devices in a shared folder accessible on the server and configured user computers. When Connect is initially configured, the server and user computers are set to a shared network and given file access.
While the Ranger DVR and DR-200 v2 videos should be viewed on the PV Player, BC4 video files must be viewed from the files on a user's or the server computer.
Open the File Storage Folder
- Open the computer's file explorer.
-
On the top bar, type the path to the configured storage folder.
-
On most computers, this will be in the path C:\PVTransfer
-
If you are unsure where a folder is on a configured user computer, request the information from the server administrator:
- On the server computer, navigate to localhost:5004/home/setup on any browser.
-
The "File Storage" field contains the folder path to the storage to type into the file explorer.

File Storage Structure
Connect's local storage is organized into folders with the serial number of each unit registered to the software. Each unit is divided into the recorded date (YYYYMMDD) and further subdivided into date and time (YYYYMMDD_HH).
For example, if you’re searching for a non-event video recorded at 09 am on April 13th, 2025, navigate to the folder in 20250413/20250413_09
Each folder may contain several files for the hour of recording, which all follow the naming structure YYYYMMDD-HHMMSSMS_AVFRre_BC4SN_username, where:
For example, the video file named 20250413-09562347_1025h4_2110B400592_JohnEgg.mp4
