When a Ranger DVR is configured to offload to CloudConnect, it no longer emits the Wi-Fi signal that typically allows the user to connect. However, it's still possible to connect wirelessly to a Ranger through the network the device is connected to.
Requirements:
- A CloudConnect admin account.
- A smart device connected to the same network that the Ranger is configured to.
Locate the Ranger's IP Address
To access the Ranger's webpage, a user would typically connect to the device's Wi-Fi network and navigate to its default IP. Because the Ranger is connected to a different network, its IP address would be unique. To locate the Ranger's IP address:
- Request the DVR's logs on CloudConnect.
-
Download the most recent system log once the request is fulfilled.
- This should be a file named "log_UNIT.txt" or "log_system_UNIT.txt" (with UNIT being used here to represent the DVR's name on CloudConnect.
-
Open the system log and locate the last "net/ip" line.
- The most recent IP log would be near the bottom of the document.
-
Any text editor that can open a .txt file should allow you to search the file.
- Hit [Ctrl] + [F] and type "net/ip" in the search.
-
Write down the located IP address.
Navigate to the Ranger's webpage.
The Ranger must be powered on and connected to the shared network to access its webpage.
- Open any web browser and type the IP in the address bar.
-
Log in to the Ranger's webpage using the default credentials:
- User: Admin
- Password: doesitall
