Side View Radar: Configuration

The Side Radar instantly detects any obstruction at the vehicle’s sides and alerts the driver. By default, the radar's detection area is set to its maximum— 7 m (~23 ft) forward, 7 m rearward, 3.5 m (~11.5 ft) outward, 7° upward, and 7° downward.

Generally, the radar does not need to be configured. However, the forward, rearward, and outward detection zone limits can be configured individually for each sensor in the RadarTool application.

RadarTool must be downloaded onto a computer (preferably a laptop) with Wi-Fi capabilities to configure the Side Radar. 
 

Connect to the Side View Radar

1. To power the system, turn the vehicle's key to accessory power. 
   1. Do not start the engine or activate the hazards; the system must be on but not triggered to be configured.  
2. In the RadarTool application, locate the "Connection Mode" section and select "WIFI."
   
3. Locate the "Wifi Set" menu in the application's top left corner.
   • This will only display after completing the above step. 
     
4. In "WiFi Name," click the drop-down menu and select the radar. 
5. In "Password," type the default password BSD00678
   • If a Rear View Radar was also installed on the vehicle, both will display as “Radar” in the Wi-Fi options. If the default Side View password doesn’t work, the selected Radar Wi-Fi is likely the Rear.
6. Once the RadarTool connects to the system, the configuration tool will refresh to the Side View options. 
    

Configure the Detection Zones

1. Type or select the three desired distances for each sensor from the drop-down menus to create the detection zone.
   1. Forward detection distance– from the sensor to the front of the vehicle. 
      
   2. Rearward detection distance– from the sensor to the vehicle's rear.
       
   3. Outward detection distance– from the sensor outward from the vehicle.
