The Side View Radar is an object detection system that alerts the driver to any obstruction at the vehicle’s sides and blind spots. By default, the radar's detection range is set to its maximum settings— 7 m (~23 ft) forward, 7 m rearward, 3.5 m (~11.5 ft) outward, 7° upward, and 7° downward.
Generally, the radar system does not need to be configured. However, if a user wishes to alter this detection range, the forward, rearward, and outward limits can be individually configured for each radar on the RadarTool application.
RadarTool must be downloaded onto a device (preferably a portable computer) with Wi-Fi capabilities. Once the RadarTool has been downloaded and set up:
Connect to the Side View Radar
-
In the vehicle, turn the vehicle on to accessory power.
-
- This activates the system while leaving the engine off, which is necessary to connect to the system and complete the configuration.
-
-
In the RadarTool application, locate the "Connection Mode" section and select "WIFI."
-
Locate the "Wifi Set" menu in the application's top left corner.
-
-
This will only display after completing the above step.

-
- In "WiFi Name," click the drop-down menu and select the radar.
-
In "Password," type the default password BSD00678
-
- If a Rear Radar system was also installed on the vehicle, both systems will display as “Radar” in the Wi-Fi options. If the default password for the Side View Radar doesn’t work, the selected Radar Wi-Fi is likely the Rear Radar.
-
- Once the RadarTool connects to the system, the configuration tool will refresh to the Side view configuration options.
Configure the Detection Zones
-
Type or select the three desired distances for each sensor from the drop-down menus to delineate the detection zone.
-
-
Forward detection distance-- from the sensor to the front of the vehicle.
-
Rearward detection distance-- from the sensor to the vehicle's rear.
-
Outward detection distance-- from the sensor outward from the vehicle.
-
Forward detection distance-- from the sensor to the front of the vehicle.
