Understanding the Violations Page & Interface
The Violations Page
The Stop Arm Violations page displays an overview table with violation event files needing review from cameras registered to the account. Each violation event is a table row, and the row's columns provide an overview of the event:
- Unit – The vehicle (camera) that recorded the violation event.
- Date/Time – The date and time of the event in the device's time zone.
-
Location – The nearest street address to the violation event.
-
- The camera records the violation location as coordinates, and CloudConnect approximates the address.
-
-
Status – Current status of the event and its review process.
-
- Options include: Needs Review, Review Started, Insufficient evidence, No Violation, and Shared (Sent to ticketing).
-
-
Actions – The action buttons in the rightmost column open the violation review interface, where users view the event's files and process the violation review.
-
- New violations show a green [Review] button, and processed violations display a blue [Open] button.
- New violations show a green [Review] button, and processed violations display a blue [Open] button.
-
By default, only violation events that need review are displayed. To view older events, use the "Showing" drop-down menu in the top right corner. These options allow users to view and organize violations by their review state, view "All" events, or view events from the "Last 7 Days."
The Stop Arm Violation page also displays 25 events by default. To view more (or fewer) events, scroll to the bottom of the page and select the number of events to display from the "View" drop-down menu.
Use the pagination buttons in the bottom right corner to view the next page (or a previous page) of Stop Arm Violation events.
The Review Interface
Regardless of the violation status, the action button opens the review interface:
Map & Address
With the location coordinates, CloudConnect approximates and displays the nearest address and a pin location on a Google Maps window. The interactive Google Maps window allows users to view and navigate the area of the stop arm violation.
Viewer, Files & Associated Media
The Stop Arm Camera Gen2 captures three videos and two images for each violation. These are displayed in the review interface's "Associated Media" list and are viewable in the interface's center window.
The details of a violation event in CloudConnect (such as the location, date, and time) are extracted from the camera's metadata ".json" file. This file cannot be opened in the interface but may be downloaded for review. As it is a code file, it can only be opened in a text reader (such as Windows Notepad), a code reader, or a web browser.
Event details
This section includes all the information needed to file a violation for ticketing:
-
The time elapsed between the stop arm deployment and the vehicle passing.
-
- This determines whether it can be processed as a violation.
- The time allowance is dependent on the jurisdiction of the area in which the specific camera operates.
-
- The license plate number and issuing state.
- The date, time, Unit ID, event ID, and camera serial number.
- An open text field for user notes.
Action buttons
Once the violation event has been viewed or reviewed, the action buttons allow a user to finalize the violation event processing or exit the interface. There are four possible options for a reviewing user:
-
[Insufficient Evidence] – There is not enough evidence to ticket the vehicle passing.
-
- The vehicle is too far away to capture a clear image, the license plate is missing or obscured, etc.
-
-
[Not a Violation] – The event is determined not to be a stop arm violation.
-
- Not enough time elapsed between the stop arm deployment and the passing, the bus was still moving when the stop arm was deployed, etc.
-
-
[Share] – Sends the violation event information for ticketing.
-
- Automatically send the information in the window to the email contacts preconfigured in the CloudConnect Stop Arm Camera settings.
-
-
[Review Later] – Exits the review interface.
-
- You can close the review window by clicking the [Review Later] button at the bottom or the [x] at the top of the page.
