This article outlines the process to apply the firmware security patch to reestablish connectivity between the PD-1800 and DR-200v1 DVRs and a customer's cloud software. Please call our Technical Support Team with any questions or concerns throughout this process.
Connect to the DVR's Webpage
To complete the Security update, you may need to connect to the DVR and navigate to its webpage several times. Follow these instructions as needed:
Connect through Wi-Fi
- Power the vehicle and verify that the DVR's status LED is lit solid green.

On a smart device (laptop, tablet, or phone), navigate to network options, then locate and select the DVR's Wi-Fi network.
- The default Wi-Fi name begins with "PV_"

Type in the unit's Wi-Fi password when prompted.

Open a web browser on the smart device and type 192.168.10.254

If prompted, the default login credentials are:
- Username: admin
- Password: doesitall

If prompted, the default login credentials are:
Connect through LAN (Only for the PD-1800)
- Power the vehicle and verify that the DVR's status LED is lit solid green.
- Plug an Ethernet cable into the DVR's LAN port.
- Plug the other end of the cable into the Computer's port.

Open any browser and type 192.168.10.254 into the search bar.

- Username: admin

Check the DVR's Firmware Version
To apply the security patch to these devices, verify that the unit is running the latest firmware. If it isn't, update the firmware to the latest version. Warning: If the firmware security patch is applied while the unit is on a previous firmware version, the unit will not function as expected.
- Connect a smart device to the DVR and navigate to its web interface.

On the DVR’s interface, navigate to [Settings] > [System Info].
- If you're prompted to log in again, use the default credentials above.

On the System Info page, locate your unit's current firmware, and verify whether it matches the latest available version:
- PD-1800 should be firmware v4.8.19.
- DR-200v1 should be firmware v4.8.26.
Download the Firmware and/or Security Patch

If your device is NOT on the latest firmware:
- Download the latest firmware corresponding to your DVR.

Follow the instructions below to update your DVR.
- Warning: If the unit is only updated to the latest firmware without the security patch, the communication problem with the cloud software will remain.

Once your device IS on the latest firmware:
- Download the security patch corresponding to your DVR.

Follow the instructions below to update your DVR.
Update the DVR
Through the web interface
- Connect a smart device to the DVR and navigate to its web interface.

Navigate to [Settings] > [System Info].
- If you're prompted to log in again, use the default credentials above.
- Locate the "Update Firmware" box at the bottom of the page.
- Click [Choose File] and select the downloaded firmware file.
- Click [Upload] to load the firmware into the DVR.

The unit will beep twice when the update begins.
Warning: Do NOT power off the unit during this time. -
Once the firmware update is complete, the unit will beep once and then reboot automatically.
- The web interface will also display the update status on screen.
- Wait for the unit to finish rebooting; its power status light should be lit green.
Through an SD Card
This process can be completed with the unit's SD card or a spare card. The instructions below assume the unit's card is being used.

Verify the DVR is powered off; its status lights should be off/gray.
- If a unit's SD card is removed while it's recording, its files may be corrupted.
- Remove the DVR's SD card.

Insert the card into a computer.
- You may need an SD card-to-USB adapter if the computer doesn't have an SD card slot.

In the SD's main (root) directory, create a folder named "auto_upgrade".
- If the folder already exists, delete all of its contents.
- Move the firmware file to the "auto_upgrade" folder.
- Safely eject the card from the computer.
- Insert the card with the firmware file into the DVR.
- Power on the DVR so it may begin the firmware update.

The unit will beep twice when the update begins.

Once the firmware update is complete, the unit will beep once and then reboot automatically.
- The web interface will also display the update status on screen.
