Ranger DVR: Replacing a Broken Lock

The Ranger DVR mounts to a vehicle with its locking cage, which additionally prevents third parties from removing the SD card and unplugging the system's cameras. On occasion, the lock on the mounting cage may break and need to be replaced. 

Contact Pro-Vision's support team or your sales representative to request or purchase a new lock. 
 

Replacing a Broken Lock

  1. Remove the broken lock.
    • Using a #2 Phillips screwdriver, remove the screw holding the lock's latch in place. Set both the latch and screw aside. 
    • Remove the lock's nut with a 14 mm socket.
    • Push the lock out of the mounting cage. 
  2. Insert the new lock into the mounting cage. 
    • Align the key notches with the lock icons printed on the cage. 
  3. Hand-tighten the nut to the back of the lock, then secure it with a 14 mm socket. 
  4. Align the locking tab on the rear of the lock with the curved side facing the open part of the cage. 
    • This is what allows the cage to lock and unlock. 
  5. Using a #2 Phillips screwdriver, secure the locking tab and screw to the lock's body. 
  6. Verify the lock is functional and can secure the unit to its mounting cage.
