RadarTool Software

The RadarTool is the configuration application for the Rear and Side View Radars. While the radars don't generally require configuration after they're installed, some users may want to change the default detection zones to best fit their vehicle and driver's needs.

Download the RadarTool application zip folder.

Setting up Radar Tool

  1. Download the RadarTool zip file above.
  2. Locate and right-click the zipped file. Select “Extract All” from the pop-up menu
  3. Open the extracted folder and click the "RadarTool" application.
    • This might prompt a security pop-up the first time the application is opened. Click "More info" to display a "Run anyway" button in the bottom right corner of the screen, left of the "Don't run" button.
    • Click the "Run anyway" button.
    • This will display an informational pop-up "Before connection, ensure the Control Box is powered, and the trigger input line is on low level (or no connect)."
    • Click "OK".
  4. In the RadarTool application, locate the "Connection Mode" section and select "WIFI."
  5. Turn the vehicle's key to accessory power (do not turn the engine nor hazards on) to power the system.
    • This is necessary to connect to the system and complete the configuration.
  6. Locate the "WIFI Set" menu in the application's top left corner.
    • This will only display after completing step 5.
  7. In “WIFI Name,” click open the drop-down. There should be two “Radar” options. To distinguish between the two systems, type one of the two passwords:
    • The Rear Radar:  88888888 (eight 8’s)
    • Blindside Radar: BSD00678

When the tool connects to the Blindside Radar, the page will refresh to show its configuration options.

Side View Radar Configuration

The Side View Radar’s detection zone is configured with three (3) distances: forward (from the sensor to the front of the vehicle), rearward (from the sensor to the rear of the vehicle), and outward (from the sensor, outward from the vehicle). Each distance can be individually configured per sensor and is set, by default, to its maximum distance.

  1. Forward - Type or select the desired forward distance from the drop-down menu for each sensor.

  2. Rearward - Type or select the desired rearward distance.

  3. Outward - Type or select the desired  outward distance.

Rear View Radar Configuration

The Rear Radar’s detection zone width, angle, speed, alarm, and the length of each of the five (5) detection sub-zones can all be configured through the RadarTool application. There are additional configurations for the Rear Radar, this guide will only go over the main ones.

  1. Sensor Number
    • Locate the “Sensor Num” section in RadarTool.
    • Select the number of sensors installed in the vehicle.
  2. Speed - This is set to 0 by default, allowing the radar to detect any objects within its detection zone. However, it can be set to only detect objects going at a certain speed.
    • Locate the "Sensor Zone Speed" section in the RadarTool.
    • Type or select the speed (in meters per second) the selected sensor will begin detecting at.
  3. Sensor Zone
Length - The length of each detection sub-zone. Each zone is 2m (~6.5ft) by default, with Zone 1 being closest to the vehicle. The maximum length of the entire detection zone is 40m (~66ft). Within that total length restriction, the detection sub-zones may be of any length.

Width - The width of the detection zone is 2m (~6.5ft) by default. The maximum detection width is 20m (~66ft).

    • Locate the “Sensor Zone Length” section in the RadarTool.
    • Type or select the length per zone from the drop-down menu (1 through 5).

    • Locate the “Sensor Zone Width” section in the RadarTool.
    • Type or select from the drop-down menu the width for the detection zone.
