PV Player: Download & Overview

To view a video directly from the memory (SD card or SSD) of a Pro-Vision DVR, or with self-hosted software (Connect), users must use a video player compatible with the .avi video format.

The PV Player facilitates navigation of the file structure and allows users to view videos from multi-camera systems simultaneously.

Download the Software

  1. Click here to download the PV Player Software.
    • The PV Player is an executable file, so browsers may block its download on the first attempt. You may need to right-click or select "View Details" to allow the file to download anyway.
  2. Open the executable.
    • Locate the file in the "Downloads" folder or open it directly from the browser's downloads.
    • This may prompt a "Display not 1080P" pop-up. Click [OK] to continue.
  3. The software should launch automatically. Otherwise, open the app from the computer's desktop or start menu.

The media player is divided into three areas: the video player, file details, and timeline.

  • Video Player – display up to nine system cameras simultaneously and play, stop, advance, and interact with the open video.
  • File Details – open the storage folders and select video files to view.
  • Timeline – Interact with the timeline of video recorded on a selected date.

Loading Video Files

  1. Open the video storage location.
    • In the top area of the "File Details", select the [Browse] button.
  2. Select the main directory storing the DVR's video and click [OK].
    • This enables all video files to be displayed.
  3. Wait for the data to populate completely.
    • As the data loads, the [Browse] button is replaced with a [Stop] button.
    • If a folder is mistakenly selected, press the [Stop] button to correct the selection.
    • The date of the most recent video will be displayed in the [Date] box.
  4. Select the desired [Date] from the drop-down list to view its footage.
    • Its data will display in the list section and timeline underneath the player.
  5. Filter as needed to select the desired video.
    • Depending on the number of videos in the card, it may be necessary to further filter the videos by start time, end time, video type, or recorded camera. Click [Apply Filters].
  6.  Select [View], then [View Mode] and the number of cameras wished to view simultaneously.
  7. From the list, click the checkmark next to the videos you wish to view.
    • Make note of the video's details, including start time, end time, camera used, and type, to ensure the selected video is the desired one.
  8. Right-click on the list and select [Play].
