Once the Stop Arm Camera 2 is installed, connect to the Ranger DVR to view the camera’s live images and verify the stop arm trigger is working correctly.
Connect to the Ranger DVR
To connect to the Ranger DVR, you'll need the device's Wi-Fi name and password, and the configuration must be set to “Access Point" (AP) mode. A new Ranger will be set to this mode and configured with default Wi-Fi credentials, which are included below.
If the DVR was installed in the vehicle, follow the Stop Arm Camera 2: Retrofit Post-Installation Testing instructions.
Connect to the DVR's Wi-Fi
- Turn the bus key and verify that the DVR's status LED or the event marker button lights up solid green.
-
Enable Wi-Fi on a laptop, tablet, or smartphone and locate and select the Ranger’s network.
-
- The default Wi-Fi name will begin with “PV_Ranger_xxxxxx”. The last 6 characters are unique to the DVR unit.

From the Ranger web interface, click on "Settings" (top right corner of the page) and select "Stop-Arm Camera" from the drop-down.
-
- If the page doesn't load correctly, check the Ranger's firmware version to verify it's been updated. Firmware version 1.12.6 or newer is required to use the Stop Arm Camera.
- For detailed instructions on how to update the firmware, see PD-1902 Ranger DVR: Firmware.
-
- If prompted, log in with username admin and password doesitall

Once the stop arm page loads, it will display live images from all three Stop Arm Camera Gen2 lenses.
-
- Verify all three camera images are present.
-
If the DVR was initially installed with an older Dual-Lens Stop Arm Camera, the Ranger may be configured to display only two cameras.

If SARM does not appear in the bottom left corner of the camera image when the arm is deployed, the camera is not being triggered correctly. Troubleshoot the camera's red trigger wire connection.
