Wireless Connection Test Kit: Trailer Testing

The trailer system consists of a wireless transmitter and camera. When paired with a tractor's receiver, it transmits the trailer's camera image to be recorded or displayed. The test kit temporarily acts as a temporary tractor connection so users may verify or troubleshoot the trailer system's functionality, wiring, and camera placement. 

Wireless systems connect by sending a pairing signal over the shared power wire of the 7-way plug. The trailer’s transmitter connects to the kit receiver, and the kit monitor displays the trailer's camera image or informs the user of an issue with the system or pairing.

1. Connect the kit’s provided 7-way coil cable to the right-hand port on the back of the case, labeled "To trailer". 
   
   • Align the notch on the metal plug downwards, as shown below.
     
2. Connect the other end of the coil cable to the trailer’s 7-way plug.
   
   • Align the notch on the metal plug upwards. 
3. Insert the kit’s battery into the adapter in the bottom left corner of the case.
   
4. Flip the power switch on the front panel of the test kit.
   • If the monitor doesn’t turn on, charge the battery.
5. Visually verify the red “Power” LED and the blue “Pairing” LED on the trailer's transmitter are lit.
   
6. View the monitor on the test kit.

If the test is successful, the kit monitor will display the trailer’s camera image. If the test fails, one of two system messages will display:

1. Lost Link – The receiver cannot reach the transmitter. 
   • Verify the trailer’s transmitter is on (the red “Power” LED should be lit).
   • Test the transmitter’s fuse.
   • Verify the transmitter wiring is connected to the 7th pin blue wire of the 7-way.
   • Verify the physical connection to the blue pin is uninterrupted.
     
     • • Circuit breakers and logic systems may obstruct the signal.
         
2. No Input – There is no camera input.
   • Verify the wire connections from the camera to the transmitter.
     • • Reference the above wiring diagram. 
   • Troubleshoot the rear camera.
