The Samsara Solution has an Analog Camera Connector device that allows the connection of an external analog video signal for recording. Pro-Vision has multiple component options that add vision capabilities to the Samsara Solution by providing rear and side video coverage and the integration of a driver-facing, in-vehicle display.
There are multiple three-camera solutions available:
-
PV-3CAM-4CH – Left, Right, and Rear Cameras (Also supports 1 additional camera)
-
PV-3CAM-4CH-MON – Left, Right, and Rear Cameras with Display (Also supports 1 additional camera)
See below for more information about the installation, setup, and use of the systems.
PV-3CAM-4CH – Left, Right, and Rear Cameras (Expandable)
This kit allows two side cameras and a rear camera to be connected to the Samsara system for recording in a split-screen configuration. Camera power supply is independent of the Samsara components, but the USB interconnect cable between the Multiplexer and Vehicle Gateway allows the cameras to power on whenever the Samsara Vehicle Gateway is on. This kit has an additional input to allow another camera to be added later.
Note: The green ignition signal input on the Multiplexer is not used for this solution as the USB connection to the Vehicle Gateway manages power on/off.
Includes
(1) Rear Camera, (2) Side Cameras, (4) Camera Extension Cables, (1) Multiplexer, (1) Multiplexer Power Harness, (1) Multiplexer Output Cable, and (1) Multiplexer Input Cable
Samsara Recorded View
1. Rear camera view on the top stretched
2. Passenger side camera view on the bottom left
3. Driver side camera view on the bottom right
Multiplexer View Mode Setup
After the system is installed and powered on, press and hold the “SET VIEW” button on the side of the multiplexer for 3 seconds to set the video output to the three (3) camera split-screen configuration.
Multiplexer On-Screen Display (OSD)
The multiplexer overlays the titles “PASSENGER” and “DRIVER” over the images to identify the cameras for the viewer in the Samsara Interface. When the monitor image is mirrored as described above for proper viewing, the titles will also be mirrored. The on-screen titles can be disabled by double-pressing the “SET VIEW” button on the multiplexer. Double press the “SET VIEW” button again to re-enable.

PV-3CAM-4CH-MON – Left, Right, and Rear Cameras with Display (Expandable)
This kit allows two side cameras and a rear camera to be connected to the Samsara system for recording in a split-screen configuration. The cameras are connected to a display for viewing and can be manually selected by the driver. The optional turn signal trigger inputs allow the display to automatically show the triggered side camera view when turning. The optional reverse trigger input allows the display to automatically show the camera view when backing up.
Includes
(1) Rear Camera, (2) Side Cameras, (4) Camera Extension Cables, (3) Video Splitter Cables, (1) Multiplexer, (1) Multiplexer Power Harness, (1) Multiplexer Output Cable, (1) Multiplexer Input Cable, (1) Monitor Power Harness, (1) Monitor, and (1) Monitor Mount
Video Splitter Cable
The Video Splitter Cable (P/N: PD-1456) allows video and audio signals from a camera to be split and output to two (2) devices. The cable is commonly used to allow a camera to be sent to a Multiplexer or DVR for recording and to a monitor for full screen viewing by the driver. The cable can be installed inline on any camera cable. The camera can only be powered by one of the devices, so one of the outputs is colored red and labeled “DVR” to show the connector that is providing power to the camera.
Samsara Recorded View

2. Passenger side camera view on the bottom left
3. Driver side camera view on the bottom right
Monitor Live View
Rear, Passenger side, or Driver side view (selectable or triggered)
Multiplexer View Mode Setup
After the system is installed and powered on, press and hold the “SET VIEW” button on the side of the multiplexer for 3 seconds to set the video output to the three (3) camera split-screen configuration.
Monitor Image Mirroring
When viewing an image from a rear facing camera on a monitor, it is necessary to have that image mirrored for proper viewing by the driver. The rear camera is connected to the CAM2 (blue) input on the monitor and that input will need to be mirrored. After installation is completed, turn on the monitor and press the “M” button twice to get to the “DISPLAY” menu. The CAM1 option should be selected. Press the “Δ” button once to select CAM2, then press the “+” button to change it from “NORMAL” to “MIRROR”. The menu will close automatically after a few moments of inactivity.
