This cable takes a single input from a camera and splits the output between two (2) devices. It is often used so a camera can record to a DVR while also being viewed on a monitor, but it can also be used to view a camera on two (2) monitors. The DVR output supplies the power to camera. |
Installation
Monitor Bracket/Mount
Identify mounting location and select type of mount.
- U-Bracket: Works well for a dashboard or ceiling.
- Fan Mount: Works well when adhesive-mounted to dashboards or windshields. It can also be screw-mounted.
Use the included mounting hardware and install the mounting bracket.
Preparing windshield for an adhesive-mount
- Clean the window with a glass cleaner and wipe it down with a paper towel.
- Spray the window with 70% isopropyl alcohol or swab area with an alcohol prep pad and wipe down with a paper towel until the towel drags across the window. When the paper towel does not slide easily, the window is free of all the alcohol and ready for mounting the component.
- Hold the mount in the intended location to determine fit. If there is a curve, bend the bracket to match the surface before adhering. Remove the adhesive backing, firmly press the mount to the surface, and hold for 30 seconds. Allow the adhesive to cure one hour prior to attaching and monitor for best results.
5” and 7” HD Monitors
These monitors share the same mounting and installation instructions.

- Monitor Configuration
The three (3) Channel HD Monitors - 5” Waterproof (PM-1930S/8020006), 5” (PM-1950S/9000251), and
7” (PM-1970S/8020008), share the same mounting and installation instructions as they have the same connections and similar mounting hardware.
Monitor Operation: Monitor Menu and Controls
When power is provided to the monitor by the vehicle ignition it initially powers to a standby state and the power button displays in red. Pressing the power button turns the monitor on and the power button displays in green. When the ignition is turned off the monitor saves the current state and resumes the same state when the ignition is turned back on. The monitor will change from the standby state to whichever camera view is selected when a trigger signal is applied to one of the trigger wires.

Camera Selection
To select a camera, ensure the monitor is on (Green power light) and then press the [S] button to cycle through the camera inputs - CAM1 / CAM2 / CAM3.
Menu Options
The monitor menu is accessed by pressing the [M] button when the monitor is on. Multiple menu pages are available which can be accessed by pressing the [M] button again. The menu pages are Picture, Display, System, Auto Scan, and Scale. After selecting the desired menu, use the [Δ] button to cycle through the screen options and the [+] and [-] to adjust individual settings.
1. Picture Menu
- Brightness: Adjust the brightness of the display
- Contrast: Adjust the contrast of the display
- Color: Adjust the color of the display
2. Display Menu
- Cam1: Adjust the view state of the monitor (NORMAL, F-MIR, FLIP, MIROR)
- Cam2: Adjust the view state of the monitor (NORMAL, F-MIR, FLIP, MIROR)
- Cam3: Adjust the view state of the monitor (NORMAL, F-MIR, FLIP, MIROR)
3. System Menu
- Language: Adjust the display language of the monitor
- Resolution: Sets the input resolution state of the monitor. Set to AUTO unless directed otherwise
- Backlight: Select to enter the Backlight sub-menu (Auto-Dim, Daytime, Nighttime)
- Rear Trigger Scale: Enable this option to allow for scale when the rear camera (Cam3) is triggered
- Volume: Adjust the speaker volume of the monitor
4. Auto Scan Menu
- Auto-Scan: Enable Auto-Scan to automatically cycle between the camera views (Off or On)
- Scan-Time: Set the delay time to stay on each camera view before switching (1-100 seconds)
- Cam1: Enable or skip this camera view on the auto-scan function (Off or On)
- Cam2: Enable or skip this camera view on the auto-scan function (Off or On)
- Cam3: Enable or skip this camera view on the auto-scan function (Off or On)
5. Scale Menu
- Cam1: Enable the scale overlay on the camera 1 view (Off or On)
- Cam2: Enable the scale overlay on the camera 2 view (Off or On)
- Cam3: Enable the scale overlay on the camera 3 view (Off or On)
- Cam1-Scale: Select to adjust the position of the scale overlay on the camera view (R/L, Up/Down)
- Cam2-Scale: Select to adjust the position of the scale overlay on the camera view (R/L, Up/Down)
- Cam3-Scale: Select to adjust the position of the scale overlay on the camera view (R/L, Up/Down)
7" Quad Monitor
Wiring and Connections
The 7" Quad Monitor (PM-1980S/8020009) is waterproof, allowing it to be installed in a wide variety of vehicles.
- Locate ignition-controlled power and ground locations in the vehicle. A fused location is not needed (the power harness for the monitor includes an inline fuse).
- Connect the red wire on the monitor power harness to the vehicle ignition power location.
- Connect the black wire on the monitor power harness to the vehicle ground location.
- Route the large black female connector of the power harness to the mounting location of the monitor.
- Fit the monitor to the mount and make the connection from the monitor to the monitor power harness. Ensure that the arrows align on the connection points (power harness and devices).
- If the monitor power harness CAM 1 connector is further than 3 ft. (36 inches) from the DVR, use a 5-meter AV cable to connect the monitor power harness to the DVR output.
- Connect the PX-1942 (8050060) 5-meter A/V cable to the CAM 1 (Camera 1) input of the monitor power harness, then run the male end to the PD-1776 DVR to Monitor Interface Cable.
- Connect the CAM 1 Trigger (White) to a triggered power source if it is desired to have the monitor automatically turn on in when triggered; a trigger connection is not required as the monitor can be manually powered on with the power button.
Quad Monitor Features:
- Four (4) camera inputs are individually viewable on the monitor.
- Multiple display modes and independent channel adjustment.
- Touchscreen for menu control and selection of camera view, and manual control of power.
- Camera views are automatically set by trigger signals.

7" Quad Monitor
The 7” Monitor uses both the button panel buttons and the touchscreen menus for navigation.
The monitor menu can be accessed by pressing the [M] button during operation. The main menu pages are Volume, Brightness, Screen Mode/Configuration, and System Settings. After selecting the menu, use the [Δ] button to cycle through the options and the [+] and [-] to adjust.

Volume
Button Panel Instructions

Touch Screen Instructions
- Touch and drag the volume scroll bar left or right to adjust the volume.
- Click the speaker icon to enter or exit mute mode.
- When operating in mute mode, any adjustment made to the scroll bar cancels the mute function.
This screen shows that audio is only enabled for CAM1 (see the speaker icon in the CAM1 area). To adjust the volume, touch the screen and slide the bar to the right to increase or the left to decrease volume. Touch the speaker icon to enter/exit mute mode. If the volume is adjusted after muting, the mute mode will be canceled.
Note: Turning audio off/on for a camera is done in the screen configuration system settings (press the tool icon to access additional features).
Brightness

- +/-: Increase/decrease brightness.
- ▼: Switch the brightness scroll bar when the auto dim is on.
- M: Return to the previous menu. Press for 3-5s to disable the menu lock.
Touch Screen Instructions
- Touch and drag the scroll bar left or right to adjust the brightness.

Screen Configuration
Select a camera and apply a screen setup. If no setup is selected, the camera will display on a full screen. If a configuration is selected that is designed for more cameras than are installed (for example, a quad-screen configuration used with three cameras), the extra camera section will appear blank/black - since there is no camera to record a view.

Screen Configuration System Settings
Click the tool icon on the screen configuration home screen to access additional setting options. Camera attributes can be configured for each, individual camera (layer = camera). The screen configuration determines which layers are available. A dual screen configuration will only have two (2) camera layers available, a triple screen will have three (3) camera layers available, and a quad screen will have four (4) camera layers available.

- +/-: Move the cursor.
- ▼: Using the cursor, select display mode. If the icon is selected, enter Split Setup menu (options for split screens, when in split-view display mode).
- M: Return to the previous menu.
Touch Screen Instructions
- When setting up Layers 1-4: a pop-up will give the options list for the corresponding features. Click the option to change the feature or use a long press on the list and drag it to the option.
- Select Audio mix status in the Audio menu setting. Turn on/off the audio mix mode and select audio output channels. Multiple audio output channels can be selected when set to ON. No audio output is available if no channel is selected.
SP Mode or PIP Mode Instructions
The following features are only available when in PIP1/2/3 or SP view display mode. When in SP view display mode, the setting uses scroll bars for high-precision adjustment.
- Width Scale Ratio: The horizontal down scale ratio of the layer.
- Height Scale Ratio: The vertical down scale ratio of the layer.
- X Position Type: The horizontal position of the layer.
- Y Position Type: The vertical position of the layer.
- Output Channel: Audio output channel selection.
- Audio Mix: Switch of Audio Mix.

Set the attributes for features in the various system categories. Attributes set under system settings become the default values until/unless changed.

CAMERA
Apply or edit attributes such as a camera name, horizontal mirror, vertical mirror, automatic power (on, off, constant), audio (volume or mute), brightness, contrast, color, and sharpness.
PARKING LINE
Set up parking lines to assist with rear vision. Use preset options or customize with adjustments.
LANGUAGE
Set the language of the messaging, prompts, and display labels.
TRIGGER
Set up what action determines/triggers a response from the display, set delay timings, set what screen format is used, and prioritize triggers in order of importance.
AUTO SCAN
Enable or disable auto scan, set the timing of a camera display, and set delay timings.
POWER ON
Select the display image when the unit powers on.
VIDEO FORMAT
Select the video format by type and resolution.
SYSTEM
Set auto-dimmer (day/night brightness), enable audio (with or without trigger option), and set up 1, 2, or 3 level locks on menus and buttons.

Touch Screen Instructions
- Drag the black vertexes of the parking line to adjust the shape. Drag the area beside the vertexes to move the whole parking line.
- Double touch to enlarge or lessen the parking lines.
- Tapping the icon once on the top left will pop up the reset icon and tapping it again resumes the default configuration. Tap the TYPE1/2 icon on the top right to switch the parking line types. Tap the GRID icon to turn on/off the adjustment assistance grids.
- There will show the coordinate of the current focus on the top left.
- The target
icon indicates which one the touch operation focuses on.

Additional Instructions and Details
- Delay: Trigger display image duration after a trigger signal has ended, ranging from 0-60 seconds.
- Priority: Settings of trigger priorities. A trigger in higher priority can interrupt a lower priority trigger. The range of priorities is 1 to 5. The smaller the number, the higher the priority.
- Display: Settings of the corresponding trigger display image.
- The trigger function can interrupt the auto scan function.
- When the trigger signal is received, the monitor will switch to the trigger display image automatically and resume the previous state before the trigger occurs after the set delay time.
- Supports trigger detection in standby mode.
- Touch the icons to edit the value. Settings will return to the previous menu without saving if touched beyond the panel.
- Touch a number to select. Save and return to the previous menu by touching outside of the frame.

Additional Instructions and Details
- Delay: Set the duration time of a scan image, ranging 0-60 seconds. If the delay of a channel is set to 0, then auto scan will skip to another channel with a delay longer than 0 seconds. The operation of delay is the same as “Input panel.”
- Enable: Turn on/off auto scan function.
- If the parameters of “Display” or “Delay” are changed during auto scan, they will take effect on the next cycle. Parameters can be validated immediately by turning auto scan off and on again. Auto scan can be interrupted by the trigger function.

- If no icon is highlighted, touch to select and highlight it or touch to deselect and unhighlight it.
Other Instructions
- The highlighted icon indicates the screen configuration/display of the monitor on start up. Once the power icon is highlighted, the monitor directly enters screen off, standby mode.
- If no icon has a green highlight, it automatically reverts to the prior mode. The image displayed when power on is activated is the last image displayed on the monitor before it powered off previously.
- If the standby icon is highlighted, the monitor will display the startup logo, if any, then go to standby mode.

When the automatic function is on, the monitor is automatically configured for input cameras. If the automatic feature is off, the monitor will use the manually input settings for the cameras. Input formats can be set for cameras using the icon for each channel or by turning on the automatic feature for configuration. As the automatic configuration processes, it will display information for the camera after completion. If the camera does not process, or isn’t recognized, no camera information will display.
Other Instructions
- When “Automatic” is turned ON, the HD monitor will adjust to display cameras automatically.
- When “Automatic” is turned OFF, the HD monitor will respond to the fixed system settings from the menu of CAMERA1 to CAMERA4.
- Each camera format can be set manually or auto configured by touching the icon in the“Automatic” menu, marked by the tool icon
- The HD monitor won’t respond to any press or touch operation before the progress bar reaches 100%. Exiting the application is not possible until the configuration process is 100% complete.

Feature Instructions
- Dimmer: The scroll bar adjusts the backlight feature under Day mode. When the Auto feature of the Dimmer is ON, the monitor will turn on the automatic backlight function on, so that the screen will become bright in bright environments (Day mode) and turn dark when the light is dim (Night mode). The degree/sensitivity of backlight for day or night mode can be set from the menu icon .
- Menu Lock: Continuously press the M key of the Button Panel for 3-5 seconds to enable/disable the lock feature. The lock image will change from locked or unlocked after pressing M for 3-5 seconds.

There are 3 levels of menu lock:
- LEVEL1: All buttons fail to respond. If the setting of POWER ON menu is set to standby mode, the system can be turned on by the power button.
- LEVEL2: All buttons fail to respond except for POWER, VOL+ or VOL-.
- LEVEL3: No response to the M key of the Button Panel.
- Buzzer (Button Tone): When on, an alarm sounds if buttons are changed/accessed from the touch screen.

Feature Instructions
- Day: Backlight degree of Day mode is always higher than that of Night mode, ranging from 0 - 60.

10.1" Quad Monitor
Wiring and Connections
The 10.1" Quad Monitor (PM-1990S/9000513) has the largest screen of all the monitors, giving the driver a wide field of view across channels.
- Locate ignition-controlled power and ground locations in the vehicle. A fused location is not needed (the power harness for the monitor includes an inline fuse).
- Connect the red wire on the monitor power harness to the vehicle ignition power location.
- Connect the black wire on the monitor power harness to the vehicle ground location.
- Route the large black female connector of the power harness to the mounting location of the monitor.
- Fit the monitor to the mount and make the connection from the monitor to the monitor power harness. Ensure that the arrows align on the connection points (power harness and devices).
- If the monitor power harness CAM 1 connector is further than 3 ft. (36 inches) from the DVR, use a 5-meter AV cable to connect the monitor power harness to the DVR output.
- Connect the PX-1942 (8050060) 5-meter A/V cable to the CAM 1 (Camera 1) input of the monitor power harness, then run the male end to the PD-1776 DVR to Monitor Interface Cable.
- Connect the CAM 1 Trigger (White) to a triggered power source if it is desired to have the monitor automatically turn on in when triggered; a trigger connection is not required as the monitor can be manually powered on with the power button.
Quad Monitor Features:
- Four (4) camera inputs are individually viewable on the monitor.
- Multiple display modes and independent channel adjustment.
- Touchscreen for menu control and selection of camera view, and manual control of power.
- Camera views are automatically set by trigger signals.
- Supports either an SD or an AHD camera on each input.
- Flexible trigger signal connections can be set for reverse lights, turn signals (handles intermittent signals), and gear selectors.
- Parking lines and scale overlay on the camera display when operating a vehicle in reverse.

Volume
Increase/decrease volume. Enter/exit mute mode.
Brightness
Increase/decrease screen brightness for day/night.
Screen Configuration
Select the screen setup for camera display. Set up layers (individual cameras) for configuring split screen displays found in system tools .
System Settings
Set defaults for the Camera Channel (1-4), Parking Line, Language, Trigger, Auto Scan, Power On, Video Format, and System Tools.
Volume
Touch Screen Instructions
- Touch and drag the volume scroll bar left or right to adjust the volume.
- Click the speaker icon to enter or exit mute mode.
- When operating in mute mode, any adjustment made to the scroll bar cancels the mute function.
This screen shows that audio is only enabled for CAM1 (see the speaker icon in the CAM1 area). To adjust the volume, touch the screen and slide the bar to the right to increase or the left to decrease volume. Touch the speaker icon to enter/exit mute mode. If the volume is adjusted after muting, the mute mode will be canceled.
Note: Turning audio off/on for a camera is done in the screen configuration system settings (press the tool icon to access additional features).

Select a camera and apply a screen setup. If no setup is selected, the camera will display on a full screen.

Screen Configuration System Settings
Click the tool icon on the screen configuration home screen to access additional setting options. Camera attributes can be configured for each, individual camera (layer = camera). The screen configuration determines which layers are available. A dual screen configuration will only have two (2) camera layers available; a triple screen will have three (3) camera layers available, and a quad screen will have four (4) camera layers available.
Touch Screen Instructions
- When setting up Layers 1-4: a pop-up will give the options list for the corresponding features. Click the option to change the feature or use a long press on the list and drag it to the option.
- Select Audio mix status in the Audio menu setting. Turn on/off the audio mix mode and select audio output channels. Multiple audio output channels can be selected when set to ON. No audio output is available if no channel is selected.
SP Mode or PIP Mode Instructions
The following features are only available when in PIP1/2/3 or SP view display mode. When in SP view display mode, the setting uses scroll bars for high-precision adjustment.
- Width Scale Ratio: The horizontal down scale ratio of the layer.
- Height Scale Ratio: The vertical down scale ratio of the layer.
- X Position Type: The horizontal position of the layer.
- Y Position Type: The vertical position of the layer.

System Settings (Main)
Set the attributes for features in the various system categories. Attributes set under system settings become the default values until/unless changed.

CAMERA
Apply or edit attributes such as a camera name, horizontal mirror, vertical mirror, automatic power (on, off, constant), audio (volume or mute), brightness, contrast, color, and sharpness.
PARKING LINE
Set up parking lines to assist with rear vision. Use preset options or customize with adjustments.
LANGUAGE
Set the language of the messaging, prompts, and display labels.
TRIGGER
Set up what action determines/triggers a response from the display, set delay timings, what screen format is used, and prioritize triggers in order of importance.
AUTO SCAN
Enable or disable auto scan, set the timing of a camera display, and set delay timings.
POWER ON
Select the display image when the unit powers on.
VIDEO FORMAT
Select the video format by type and resolution.
SYSTEM
Set auto-dimmer (day/night brightness), enable audio (with or without trigger option), and set up 1, 2, or 3 level locks on menus and buttons.
Return to the previous menu.

- Click the ON/OFF icons or drag the scroll bars to change features.

- Drag the black vertexes of the parking line to adjust the shape. Drag the area beside the vertexes to move the whole parking line.
- Double touch to enlarge or lessen the parking lines.
- Tapping the icon once on the top left will pop up the reset icon and tapping it again resumes the default configuration. Tap the TYPE1/2 icon (Standard, Alt1, Alt2) on the top right to switch the parking line types. Tap the GRID icon to turn on/off the adjustment assistance grids.

- Touch any part of the “Delay” line to activate the digital input box. Touch the “Priority” line to activate the digital selection box. Touch the “Display” line to activate the interface to select display images.
Additional Instructions and Details
- Delay: Trigger display image duration after trigger signal has ended, ranging from 0-60 seconds.
- Priority: Settings of trigger priorities. A trigger in higher priority can interrupt a lower priority trigger. The range of priorities is 1-5. The smaller the number, the higher the priority.
- Display: Settings of the corresponding trigger display image.
- The trigger function can interrupt the auto scan function.
- When the trigger signal is received, the monitor will switch to the trigger display image automatically and resume the previous state before the trigger occurs after the set delay time.
- Supports trigger detection in standby mode.
- Touch the icons to edit the value. Settings will return to the previous menu without saving if touched outside the panel.
- Touch a number to select. Save and return to the previous menu by touching outside of the frame.

Digital Input Tool
- The maximum input number is 60.
- Enter: Saves input. Number input in “Delay” will be saved if returned to the previous menu.
- Del: Delete number.

- Touch any part of the “Delay” line to activate digital input box. Touch Enable to turn on/off the auto scan function. Touch the “Display” line to activate the interface to select display images.
Additional Instructions and Details
- Delay: Set the duration time of a scan image, ranging from 0-60 seconds. If the delay of a channel is set to 0, then auto scan will skip to another channel with a delay that is longer than 0 seconds.
- Enable: Turn on/off auto scan function.
- If the parameters of “Display” or “Delay” are changed during auto scan, they will take effect in the next cycle. Parameters can be validated immediately by turning auto scan off and on again. Auto scan can be interrupted by the trigger function.

- If no icon is highlighted, touch to select and highlight it or touch to deselect and unhighlight.
Other Instructions
- The highlighted icon indicates the screen configuration/display of the monitor on start up. Once the power icon is highlighted, the monitor directly enters screen off, standby mode.
- If no icon has a green highlight, it automatically reverts to the prior mode. The image displayed when power on is activated is the last image displayed on the monitor before it last powered off.
- If the standby icon is highlighted, the monitor will display the startup logo, if any, then go to standby mode.
Power On Settings Screen
Video Format (Standard)
When the automatic function is on, the monitor is automatically configured for input cameras. If the automatic feature is off, the monitor will use the manually input settings for the cameras. Input formats can be set for cameras using the icon for each channel or by turning on the automatic feature for configuration. As the automatic configuration processes, it will display information for the camera after completion. If the camera does not process, or isn’t recognized, no camera information will display.
Other Instructions
- When “Automatic” is turned ON, the HD monitor will adjust to display cameras automatically.
- When “Automatic” is turned OFF, the HD monitor will respond to the fixed system settings from the menu of CAMERA1 to CAMERA4.
- Each camera format can be set manually or auto configured by touching the icon in the “Automatic” menu
.
- The HD monitor won’t respond to any press or touch operation before the progress bar reaches 100%. Exiting the application is not possible until the configuration process is complete.

- Drag scroll bar of the Dimmer to adjust screen backlight under day mode. When Auto of Dimmer is ON, backlight adjustment of Day/Night mode will be accessible by touching the icon.
Feature Instructions
- Dimmer: The scroll bar adjusts the backlight feature under Day mode. When the Auto button feature of the Dimmer is ON, the monitor will turn on the automatic backlight function and the screen will become bright in bright environments (Day mode) and then turn dark when the light is dim (Night mode). The degree and sensitivity of backlight for day or night mode can be set from the menu icon.
- Menu Lock: Continuously press the Power Button for 3-5 seconds to enable/disable the lock feature. The lock image will change from locked or unlocked.

There are 3 levels of menu lock:
- LEVEL1: All buttons fail to respond. If the setting of POWER ON menu is set to standby mode, the system can be turned on by the power button.
- LEVEL2: All buttons fail to respond except for POWER, VOL+ or VOL-.
- LEVEL3: No response to the touch screen.
- Buzzer (Button Tone): If on, an alarm sounds when buttons are changed/accessed from the touch screen.
