The "Analog Camera" attribute is not set for the vehicle in the Samsara interface.
1b. Solution
Follow the "Vehicle Configuration" instructions in the "Samsara Interface" section of the Samsara Guide.
1c. Possible Cause
Analog Camera Connector is defective.
1c. Solution

3. Problem
A blue image with white text stating “No Signal” displayed when viewing the “External Camera” in the Samsara interface.
3a. Possible Cause
The camera or multiplexer is not properly connected to the Analog Camera Connector.
3a. Solution
Check to ensure that the connection between the camera or multiplexer and the Analog Camera Connector is secure.
3b. Possible Cause
The camera or multiplexer is not powered on.
3b. Solution
On single-camera systems, it is easiest to see if the camera has power by covering the camera or parking in a dark space and observing if the night vision LEDs around the camera lens glow a faint red color to indicate the camera has power. On multi-camera systems, check if the multiplexer power light is on.
3c. Possible Cause
The camera or multiplexer is defective.
3c. Solution
If the vehicle is equipped with a monitor and the view is displaying correctly on the monitor, then the camera or multiplexer is working properly. If not equipped with a display, temporarily swap a known working Analog Camera Connector in place of the existing one. If the problem continues the multiplexer or camera may be defective.

4. Problem
One or some of the camera views appear normal and one appears as a blue or black box when viewing the “External Camera” in the Samsara interface. (Multi-camera systems only)
4a. Possible Cause
The multiplexer is not properly set for the number of cameras connected. (Blue box only)
4a. Solution
Check to see that the number of connected cameras matches the view recorded. Press and hold the “Set View” button on the multiplexer for 5 seconds to set the number of connected cameras.
4b. Possible Cause
The camera displaying as a blue or black image is not properly connected.
4b. Solution
Check to ensure the camera is properly connected to the input at all connection points between the camera and multiplexer.
4c. Possible Cause
The camera displaying as a blue or black image is defective.
4c. Solution
Connect the camera directly to the multiplexer in place of one of the working cameras, if it continues to output a blue/black image it may be defective.
4d. Possible Cause
The connection on the multiplexer or the multiplexer itself is damaged.
4d. Solution
Swap one of the working camera connections with the blue/black image connection. If the problem follows the camera, see above, if the problem stays on the same input, the multiplexer or its camera input cable may be damaged.

5. Problem
One or some of the camera views appear normal and one appears as a blue or black box when viewing the “External Camera” in the Samsara interface. (Only applies to multi camera systems.)
5a. Possible Cause
The camera displaying distorted image is not properly connected.
5a. Solution
Check to ensure the camera is properly connected to the input at all connection points between the camera and multiplexer.
5b. Possible Cause
The camera displaying the distorted image is malfunctioning or defective.
5b. Solution
Connect the camera directly to the multiplexer in place of one of the working cameras; if it continues to output a blue/black image it may be defective.
5c. Possible Cause
The connection on the multiplexer or the multiplexer itself is damaged.
5c. Solution
Swap one of the working camera connections with the distorted image connection. If the problem follows the camera, see above; if the problem stays on the same input, the multiplexer or its camera input cable may be damaged.

6. Problem
The entire “External Camera” image is poor quality or distorted when viewing it in the Samsara interface.(Multi-camera systems only)
6a. Possible Cause
The video output from the multiplexer is not properly connected.
6a. Solution
Check to ensure all the connections between the multiplexer and the Analog Camera Connector are properly connected.
6b. Possible Cause
The video output connection on the multiplexer or the multiplexer itself is damaged.
6b. Solution
If the vehicle is equipped with a monitor and it is configured to view the split screen output, check to see if it is displaying correctly. If the view on the monitor is not distorted, then that the multiplexer is working properly. If the monitor is not configured to view the split screen output of the multiplexer, temporarily connect the multiplexer output to the monitor input to check the view.
6c. Possible Cause
The Analog Camera Connector is malfunctioning or defective.
6c. Solution
If the vehicle is equipped with a monitor and it is configured to view the split screen output, check to see if it is displaying correctly. If the view on the monitor is not distorted, then that the multiplexer is working properly, and the Analog Camera Connector may be defective. If the monitor is not configured to view the split screen output of the multiplexer, temporarily connect the multiplexer output to the monitor input to check the view.

7. Problem
Video Events or Retrievals in Samsara Cloud show External Camera as “Video Unavailable” or “No Footage Available”.
7a. Possible Cause
External camera or multiplexer is not connected to the Analog Camera Connector.
7a. Solution
Check to see if the green LED light next to the video input on the Analog Camera Connector is lit.
7b. Possible Cause
External camera or multiplexer is not powered on.
7b. Solution
On single camera systems, it is easiest to see if the camera has power by covering the camera or parking in a dark space and observing if the night vision LEDs around the camera lens glow a faint red color to indicate the camera has power. On multi camera systems, check to see that the multiplexer power light is on.
7c. Possible Cause
External camera or multiplexer is malfunctioning or defective.
7c. Solution
If the vehicle has a monitor, check to see if it is viewable on the monitor, if visible this is not the cause. If not, try swapping or replacing the camera.
7d. Possible Cause
The Analog Camera Connector is malfunctioning or defective.
7d. Solution
Check to see if the green LED light next to the video input on the Analog Camera Connector is lit, if so try swapping or replacing the Camera Connector. If the LED is not lit, check the USB connection on the Analog Camera Connector and check other possible causes above.
7e. Possible Cause
The Analog Camera Connector is not plugged in.
7e. Solution
Once the Analog Camera Connector is connected and associated with the Vehicle Gateway, the external camera is expected, even if the Analog Camera Connector is no longer connected. Check to ensure the USB connection on the Analog Camera Connector is connected to the Vehicle Gateway.
